[pkg-vuln] CVE-2026-59885 in pyasn1@0.6.3 #605
Reference in New Issue
Block a user
Delete Branch "%!s()"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Severity: HIGH
Package:
pyasn1@0.6.3Fixed in:
0.6.4pyasn1 is a generic ASN.1 library for Python. Prior to 0.6.4, the BER, CER, and DER decoders process OBJECT IDENTIFIER and RELATIVE-OID values in quadratic time relative to the number of arcs, so a small crafted payload containing an OID with many arcs consumes excessive CPU per decode() call and can deny service to applications that decode untrusted ASN.1 data. The corresponding encoders have the same quadratic behavior when an application re-encodes previously decoded attacker-supplied values.

Duplicate of #581 — filed by the supply-chain scanner against the pre-fix dependency set. The bump landed in
611a1d6(aiohttp 3.14.3, pyasn1 0.6.4, cryptography 50.0.0; verified installed) with per-CVE exploitability rationale on the original issue. The next scheduled scan runs against the fixed lockfile.
